I think that it is very important for the government to take charge when it comes to conserving the cultural diversity in Costa Rica. I believe that it is more appealing to travel to countries that are very culturally diverse, so why wouldn’t the government want to protect that aspect? The different cultures, languages, and ways of life are what draw people to countries, and the government can play a key role in maintaining that appeal to people. With the government protecting the cultural diversity they can also fund events for cultural rituals that help preserve the native dances, traditions, clothing, and languages of Costa Rica. By doing these things the country is able to show acceptance to all of the different traditions and rituals that are practices throughout Costa Rica, and help keep all of the languages spoken and intact.
The Costa Rican government represents the citizens, with this being said they are focusing on what the people of the country want. With all of the different people and nationalities that live in Costa Rica, they all want to have their culture preserved. If the government follows through with this and keeps all of the cultural diversities intact then all citizens will be able to remain true to their culture and not have to change who they are to be the same as the majorities. In Costa Rica the government is involved to an extent when it comes to protecting cultural diversity, they do not always fund everything because sometimes they see it as a waste of government money, the people who’s culture they are not protecting then wish that the government was not involved in protecting their culture because it is not being done, at least not the amount that they think it should be. I think that each different ethnicity should be awarded a certain amount of money based on the population of their culture in Costa Rica, given by the government. This way they could preserve their culture and keep the country diverse, and a spot where tourists would want to visit, thus bringing in more revenue for the country. Some people might disagree with my belief that the Costa Rica government should provide funding to protect cultural diversity throughout the country because they may think that it is a waste of government spending. People may think that the spending would be taking away from issues such as education, or other issues that they see more important than cultural diversity. People may also believe that if the government is spending money on this then they are able to control aspects of people’s lives by controlling their culture. I believe that a more diverse country will attract more people and make it a place where tourists want to go, thus making more money in the country. The spread of resources through countries throughout the world is called Globalization; the interaction of trading internationally has grown tremendously over the years. This increase in goods, resources, and businesses across the world is due to the modern technologies and availability. Many corporate businesses are becoming international and opening locations in many different countries in order to receive more business and become more successful in more places. There are more ways to trade now too, it is easy and fast to get something from one location to another. The invention of the plane made for fast delivery from one country to another. There has also been a huge decline in the regulations of countries on trading internationally with other countries.
Costa Rica gets all of their oil from other countries around the world; they are not able to produce any oil given their resources. They rely on other countries to get their supply of oil from. They also rely on other countries to get their capital equipment, as they would not have it if it weren’t provided to them in exchange for their goods. Costa Rica exports coffee to other countries in exchange for resources that they need such as oil and capital equipment. Coffee grows all over the country of Costa Rica, they were the first country to start growing coffee and it took off very quickly and grows extremely well in the Costa Rica climate. Other countries get their coffee from Costa Rica leading to Costa Rica gaining wealth, not only in money but also in the resources that they are provided by other countries. This all is globalization because it gives an illustration of the type of goods that they are not able to get in Costa Rica so they receive it from other countries around the world, in exchange for the goods that they do grow or make and provide for other countries. There are many pros and cons to globalization in Costa Rica, I believe that it has been very successful in the country and has helped the nation advance in technology, the medical field, government, academics, and the way of life for the Costa Rican people. There are able to get the items that they need in exchange for mostly plants that they can grow throughout the year. The country has been healthier in many ways, the spread of technology has been a huge success in the medical aspect of the country. There are more doctors and hospitals that have modern ways of curing people; this spread leads to longer life spans for most people in the country. It is very convenient to all countries in the world to trade, globalization has made it easy for every country to have access to almost everything and I believe that this may help support the relationships between countries, and the well being and health of all people in the world. |
